New Vlog

It's quite clear that I haven't posted anything here for quite some time! No, I'm not a slacker, I'm just forgetful. You see, I've been posting everything to my...everything...blog! An Astronomer In Hollywood

I just checked my stats at feedburner and saw so many people subscribed to this blog's feed, My heart kind of sank! My apologies to anyone who has been waiting for something new. It's all right here!

The Socks!

So, I just made my first official "contest" video! The video had to be one minute or less and had to feature at least two socks from Little MisMatched Socks. Here it is, below:

If you like it, please vote for it by Aug. 16th, 2006 at littlemismatched.com (you get free socks, and I might win a prize)...

Tabouleh

Making tabouleh is one of my favorite things to do when the temperature starts to rise! It is a perfect mix of cooling mint and zesty lemon and has all your body needs for a full meal. More importantly, though, it is a magical dish to make! Don't believe me? Check out the video clip below (now a .mov file- I need to stick to one format). This is one of the most crucial parts:

Snowbird

This is long overdue! Click here to see Snowbird at the IFC Media Lab

This is a short film that I originally shot on 16mm. It is my first "narrative" film. The file is rather large because the film is 10 minutes long, so please be patient if you are downloading it. The film was shot in New York State at the end of 2003 and didn't get finished until just recently (though a rough copy of it played in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Festival Market in 2004). The film stars Perry Daniel and was shot by Carl Fuermann.

Special Features Section: Perry is sitting in front of the reservoir that supplies New York City with its drinking water. Needless to say, when the sun went down we were harassed by both the local Police and the Feds for our "suspicious" activities! On top of all of this, it turned out that the car we had borrowed from a friend was recorded as having been impounded but never released. Translation: as far as they were concerned, we were driving a stolen car and up to no good. Oh, and they also suspected that our bottle of water was actually a bottle of vodka (Absolut and Smart Water have similar bottle designs). We managed to clear everything up, though. The Police were actually very friendly and let us finish filming- with a stern warning that if we crossed over the guardrail, they would "turn us over" to the Feds!

Welcome to The Muybridge Connection!

We've come a long way, haven't we? From zoetropes to flipbooks to nickelodeons to still photography to motion pictures, humans have been fascinated with the moving image. I am excited to now be a part of the vlogging phenomenon! I plan to add clips from my 16mm films and videos.

Stay tuned (you can also subscribe to my feed by clicking the orange icon on the right)...
